WELCOME TO KEYSTONE

Keystone is located in Pennington County and it too began as a mining town. In fact, its name is derived from the name of a mine.

Mount Rushmore National Memorial is located just outside of its city limits which of course, draws about 2 million visitors annually. For that reason, it is known as a resort town and is filled with many vacation and second homes and tourism is its primary industry.

If you choose to make Keystone your home, you’ll want to know that Carrie Ingalls (sister of Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House on the Prairie author) spent much of her adult life in Keystone and her sister, Mary, lived with them as an adult.
